Kitchen Renovations Hemmant Case Study

Easy Living Kitchens recently had the pleasure of working with Katie from Hemmant, to plan and replace her 15 year old original kitchen. Katie was not happy with her previous ‘U’ shaped kitchen with limited space and adjoining small dining area. Her design brief was to create an open plan design, incorporate the dining table into an island bench, and theme the kitchen to showcase their valued indigenous artwork and culture.

During our initial consultation with Katie, we worked through a design layout that ticked her boxes, and discussed various cabinetry profiles and surfaces, bench top options, colours, hardware fittings and additional elements to make her new kitchen more functional and spacious.

Katie chose Polytec Manchester doors and drawers finished in Matte Black Thermolaminate, Barchie aluminium extrusion recessed finger pull, Blum BLUMOTION Soft Close hinges and Blum Antaro TANDEMBOX drawers. The bench top surface is Silestone Negro Stellar with a 40mm polished edge, adjoining timber tabletop is a Blue Gum solid slab, whilst the custom printed glass splash back was created from indigenous inspired artwork that Katie had come across previously.

In this case, Katie chose to source independently her stainless steel appliances, as well as black glass top sink and Tapware.
